~ Fanfiction Alert ~
If you've been sticking around my blog for a while, you must know I am a big fan of Isaac Asimov's Foundation Series. I have discovered this series about 16 years ago, and fell in love with it. Time passed, and in the meanwhile I have discovered other fandoms and fell in love with them as well.
But, whatever I discover and love, the Foundation Series will always have a special place in my heart. Needless to say, after I finished reading the series for the first time, for a while I searched for it in every science fiction book I read. I never found the same fulfillment, but that is ok, because I learned not to look for a series in other books and to enjoy every book for what it is.
2025 was the year I reread the Foundation Series and loved it even more than the first time, because I saw it with new eyes and understood things which I didn't grasp the first time around. In a way, I could say 2025 is the year I fell in love with the Foundation Series for the second time.
2025 remains "marked" by the Foundation Series because rediscovering it reignited my inspiration to write fanfiction.
So I got to work and, throughout 2025 I finished the "Foundation's End" Series. "Foundation's End" is a fanfiction series made of two parts: "Somewhere Around Nothing" is my alternative to "Foundation and Empire" and "Not All That Glitters" is my alternative to "Second Foundation".
You can read it here:
What "Foundation's End" means:
- a story where the Mule wins (Mule fans might enjoy reading this!);
- a love story;
- a fanfiction where I tried my very best for all characters to be in character, and not "lend" them characteristics which boost popularity but have nothing to do with the actual characters (I am not Goyer duh);
- no woke BS (if you are sick and tired of that in fanfiction, you have come to the right place);
In the hopes that "Foundation's End" makes your winter a bit better, happy holidays and see you next year maybe!
P.S. There is a petition going around, asking the movie industry for an accurate, faithful adaptation of Isaac Asimov's Foundation Series:
