The pirate’s ballad
“What are you doing here,
You look like a mess?”
“What does it look like?
I’m waiting for death!”
“Tell me about it, you look so sad.
What have you done, little, devilish lad?”
“Well, if you want to,
I guess I could tell
How I ended down here
In this bloody well.
I was a cool pirate,
Just doing my thingy
And suddenly heard
The telephone ringing.
A fellow pirate told me they’re after us
So I’d better leave home, taking the bus,
I answered I’d vanish, don’t make such a fuss!
I opened the door and wanted to run,
But there a gorilla was pointing a gun.”
“I’m sorry lad, can’t you get a good lawyer?
It’s a pity for all to lose such a warrior.”
“I wish I could do so, but I’m broke like hell
No chance of me getting out of this well.
Sharing my treasure without any measure,
Seeding virtual flowers at late midnight hours…
No charge, no fees and at high speed, too
No use keeping good things only for you.
The gorillas said this was illegal
Giving stuff free, like people were equal…
They took my boat,
They took my coat
And I feel like a frozen goat.
So long fellow pirates,
So long high-speed sea
And while I am down here
Keep seeding for me!
Isn’t it funny, my grandma told me
Just how freakin’ awful the commies could be.
But I’d tell my child, I lived through a time
When the world wide sea was open to dive.
Oh, now I realize, sir, you entered my cell!
Who are you?
How did you pass through the gate of my hell?”
“I guess I must say, lad,
But please don’t be mad.
When I first entered to come after thee
You really did say you’d been waiting for me.”
“I see, I see, please do take me.
I’ll be a ghost, possess no host.
To my fellow pirates I’ll always be near
Knocking in wood
Ere gorillas appear.
So smoke some weed and plant a seed
For the ones who are in need.
To the ones reading this story
I say this: people, don’t worry
Because behind the dark mist
Pirates will always exist!”
