The Galactic Rent Debtors is a Hetalia fan fiction i am currently writing :)
You can read it here on Archive of Our Own.
If you don't know what Hetalia is, here's a little explanation. Hetalia is a manga series, later adapted into an anime series. The characters are anthropomorphic personifications of countries and the series contains humorous scenes with mild jokes about stereotypes and subtle hints about economic and cultural issues. The jokes are innocent, and don't put anyone in a bad light, so i can tell that the creator, Hidekaz Himaruya, is a really peaceful person. I mean it is not the type of humor which the mass media describes as "good" or "maybe a bit crazy", but in fact can be hurtful and is quite disgusting most of the times.
Hetalia is one of the few things related to television and tv series that i enjoy, even though i have given up consuming mass media a long time ago. The reason i like it is because the idea of having anthropomorphic personifications of countries as characters seems really interesting to me, and because of the positive general message.
My Hetalia fan fiction is a science fiction story which takes place about 1.000 years in the future, when humanity will have spread throughout the Milky Way. The characters are NOT anthropomorphic personifications of countries, but normal people. The general setting is inspired by some of the science fiction novels i have read over time, mostly Asimov's Foundation Series and Douglas Adams's Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
I intend this story to be a message against the new world order, but this will probably be more obvious towards the later chapters. The story will have 7 or 8 chapters in total. I want it to be a funny science fiction adventure story, although it contains some sad bits here and there.
So yeah, this is what i'm doing in my free time as of late :D
If you have some spare time and you're looking for a Hetalia fan fiction with a serious message, you might as well give it a try.
I'm not good at advertising myself, i'm not very pleased with how this article sounds :))
