Ice doesn’t melt the gold
1.My field of view was too wide,
Tried to narrow it down,
But the only thing it did
Was make me squint and frown.
2.My hearing was way too sharp,
I stuck the headphones in,
It shut down all opinions,
Also what’s in between.
3.My sense of smell was too good —
Not for what’s on the ground,
Each time I held my nose tight
I felt like I would drown.
4.My feelings slam on my soul,
Too hazy, loud, unclear,
And it is oh so tempting
To make them disappear.
5.And everyone told me, girl,
You need to be ice cold,
But the issue with that is
Ice doesn’t melt the gold.
