The pretender
1.A cold autumn day
And I’m starting to shiver,
I smile to myself
And I smile in the mirror.
I fix my profile
And step out of the shower,
Again and again
And over and over.
2.Who am I to tell
If it’s good or bad,
But one thing’s for sure,
It makes me less sad.
I ruffle my hair
With a smile full of power,
Again and again
And over and over.
3.The photos may lie
When they aren’t shattered,
But with exercise
I get better and better.
It’s easy to smile
When you move undercover,
I’ll do it again
And over and over.
