Poem from a girl who's seen it all

 Youth

Child, you don’t have to tell the truth,

Is that a synonym to youth?

Youth, smile even for a little while,

Maybe emotions will not pile.

Youth, look at the flowers touched by breeze,

Admire the strength of the sea.

Eyes, they betray you when you’re mad,

You might learn to look down instead.

Why take words so seriously,

They don’t pay the bills, not really.

Hey, you don’t have to act so tough,

Isn’t this life fragile enough?

Look at the waves hit by the sun,

See how beautifully it’s done.

Why glance aside like you don’t care,

In weakness no one will be there.

You always complain I am old,

That’s rude, or haven’t you been told?

Still glowing skin, but not a child,

This world is anything but mild.

Youth, they say you rise after you fall,

But what if you don’t fall at all?

In the water, beneath the sky

 For everything

1.I’m grateful for the weather

Outside and one within,

Grateful for every rain drop

That trickles on my skin,

Grateful for everything

I know and I don’t know

And for the ones I had to

More or less let them go.

2.I’m grateful for the rythm

Of the jungle and beat,

And more so for the ones which

Play hours on repeat,

Grateful for everything

I feel and I don’t feel,

For those which make me relapse

And turn my soul to steel.

3.I’m grateful for the wild locks

I see, but cannot touch,

To stroke them with my fingers

Would only mean too much.

Grateful for conversations

I have and I don’t have,

For those turn into poems

Which make me feel less bad.
